" Something as complex as a complete sim design should be in the hands of all citizens. We must insist on a CDS wide referendum to vote on the final design. " Cadence Theas

That's what Cadence Theas says, anyway. The charred burning building is one that Cadence built. These duplexes were next to the Colonia Nova wall on CDS owned property, but when she was upset about the changes happening in Locus Ameonus sim and how they were decided, she decided to set it on fire.. bushes near by ...it was quite a sight. Dramatic.
So, how I found out about this was that I pinged Cadence about the upcoming CDS ART Festival 2014. I asked her if she'd like her wonderful custom built homes on a home tour of homes built by CDS citizens... she told me this one was on fire. "literally on fire" , she said, " Charred ", " I left them burning", she said that our chancellor said they couldn't be used in the new Locus Ameonus redesign, so "I'm making a small statement for a few days". I asked her what would be put in its place and she said, "probably a McDonalds".
Cadence's 'statement" didn't last a few days. I went back an hour or so later and the build was gone, all the fire too, no ashes even. The CDS fire department must have arrived and put out the flames and quickly hauled away the remainder of the building.
Bagheera, The Chancellor of CDS, is working diligently to complete the upgrade/redesign of LA for the citizens of CDS. The theme is being changed from Roman to Tuscan. Suffice it to say there is no way to make everyone happy when things like this happen.
Another build of Cadence's had already been removed, she had built a very nice café on the end of one of the piers on public property in LA but that is gone too. The sim is double primmed land for people who buy parcels and pay tier so prims on public land when the land is sold will be quite limited and must be counted carefully.
As far as a referendum in the Confederation of Democratic simulators, well... the Representative Assembly voted already on what would happen to LA, and that change is underway. So we shall see.
We all look forward to seeing what it will look like when it is done.
LA as a sim has been around since 2008.. it was built when CDS was busting at the seams as it is now with no land for new citizens and the great need for another sim to give the room to bring more in. Back then, as I recall, sims were built by the CDS citizens who came together as a group and built sims together, most of the politics was set aside. It was usually a time of bonding and a lot fun for the entire community.
But this time? Growing pains? oh yeah.
